Urgent Sailing Yacht Refit Success
Arrow was introduced to an Italian owner through one of the world’s leading maritime law firms.
The client had recently purchased a 35m sailing yacht and was looking to compete in a series of regattas in the Caribbean and Europe.
With our specific sailing and racing expertise ASM (Arrow Services Monaco) was engaged to modify the existing deck gear and specify and monitor the design and build new sail wardrobe to make the yacht competitive for racing. Arrow was also responsible to select the full professional race team and manage the logistics for flights accommodation etc.
Unfortunately during the transatlantic crossing in 2013 from Tenerife to Antigua the yacht suffered some storm damage that needed to be repaired urgently if the regatta schedule was to be maintained.
“A series of regattas in the Caribbean and Europe”
The technical department of ASM studied the problems and drafted a budget, refit specification, action list flying our internal technical team from Europe to fix the problem within the short 3 week time frame. Our client was confident with our ability to perform and agreed to our proposals which we managed to complete under budget and within the time frame although this substantial work included dismantling and re building the mast.
The owner was extremely grateful with the results from ASM that allowed him to fulfil his dream of a season racing in the Caribbean and created a great loyalty bond.
